Dennis A. Cribben, Jr.

promoted to Chief of Police 

 

 

 

Mount Laurel Township is pleased to announce the promotion of Lieutenant Dennis A. Cribben, Jr. to Chief of Police. Chief Cribben was sworn in on Monday, March 15, 2010, during the Township Council Meeting. Chief Cribben had been serving as Acting Chief of Police since August 1, 2009. Chief Cribben joined the department in October 1992, and was assigned to the Patrol Bureau.  He was assigned as a Lead Officer in November 2000 before being promoted to the rank of Sergeant in December 2002.  He served as a Patrol supervisor until his April 2008 promotion to Lieutenant.  He served as the Operations Divisions Commander before being assigned as a Watch Commander.  During his career, he served as a Firearms Instructor, Field Training Officer, Police EMT and was a Team Leader on the police department's Tactical Team.  Chief Cribben is married to his wife, Beth. They have two children, ages 9 and 6.  He is retired from the United States Army Reserve after serving 22 years and achieving the rank of Command Sergeant Major. He is a veteran of the Iraq War and served in Baqubah, Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Chief Cribben graduated from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police Command & Leadership Program. Chief Cribben is a graduate of LaSalle University where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. He also graduated from the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.
